opportunity and Problem
Instead of using their phone while driving, drivers needed access to their events on the car head unit. Android Auto team needed to define the feature set and create a safe and seamless car experience.
My role and responsibilities
I led the design track from start to launch. Collaborated tightly with product manager for definition; and with a small team of designers, researchers, engineers on design direction and execution.

Our first challenge was understanding which features from the phone to bring over and optimize for car usage. I helped the team gather knowledge from experts and through various product audits; creating a meaningful feature set. I created prototypes and collaborated with researchers to test the product hypotheses early on with users.
My efforts ensured Calendar app was launched successfully and was well-adopted by users. Team have a healthy backlog of features to develop further based on user feedback.
